Kerry A. Madden

Kerry A. Madden's early interests in art and theater have been pursued in parallel from 1965 to the present, as he has combined careers in theatrical design, painting and assignments at several major performing art centers.

His MFA from Southern Methodist University and his 1980-1984 faculty appointment at UCLA, teaching theater scenic and lighting design, provided a unique and complimentary perspective for his artwork.

In both theater scenic designs and paintings, his presentations have focused on the relationships of abstract geometric forms. His works are in acrylics, mixed media and he introduces elements of papers and bond to provide a platform for textural surfaces and shapes, in a layered process.

Madden currently paints from a studio in Manhattan, is represented in a number of private collections and accepts selected commissions for individual or commercial projects.
