My approach to painting is subjective and self-referential. Multi-layered surfaces,
collaging of diverse materials and images are employed to investigate an inner
landscape of dreams and nightmares. Accuracy of representation is subordinate
to creation of magical and illusory effects.
Motifs which are personally absorbing (transitions, passage of time) serve as
triggers to challenge and stimulate the imagination. These paintings are a
personal odyssey which nevertheless seeks to explore universal themes.
